You are driving on a straight, level highway at 50 mph. There are no vehicles in front of you. Suddenly a tire blew out of your vehicle, what should you do first?
Answer: A
Stay off the brake until the vehicle has slowed down.
Although we have a natural tendency to step on the brakes during an emergency, doing so, especially during a tire blowout, could result in a loss of control. Unless you are about to hit something, do not use the brake until the vehicle has slowed down. When your car is below 20 mph, take a gentle step on the brake, pull to the side of the road, and stop.
